Being an Institution of National Importance, it provides students with world-class facilities, a research-oriented environment, and a supportive community that fosters holistic development.

Spandan: The Cultural Pulse

JIPMER is home to 'Spandan', one of India’s largest inter-medical collegiate festivals. This week-long extravaganza features arts, music, dance and literary events, bringing together medical students from across the country to showcase their creative talents.

Student Association & Clubs

The JIPMER Student Association (JSA) actively manages various interest groups including the Music Society, Dance Club and Sports Committee. These platforms allow students to de-stress and pursue passions outside the demanding medical curriculum.

Conferences & Conclaves

Events like 'CONNAISSANCE' (Undergraduate Medical Conference) allow students to present research papers and participate in workshops. These academic gatherings provide exposure to global medical trends and networking with renowned specialists.

Hostels & 'The Harvey House'

JIPMER provides separate, well-equipped hostels like Harvey House (for men) and Blackwell House (for women). The campus includes a modern gymnasium, swimming pool, central library and multiple messes serving diverse regional cuisines.

Unmatched Clinical Exposure

With a massive daily patient inflow, students get hands-on experience in diagnosing complex cases early in their training. The 2000+ bedded hospital serves as a live classroom for learning precision and empathy in patient care.

Innovations & Research

Research is deeply integrated into JIPMER’s DNA. Students are encouraged to take up ICMR-STS projects and internal research grants, utilizing state-of-the-art labs and the advanced multi-disciplinary research unit (MRU).
