How Does NTA Calculate Re-NEET Rank?
NTA calculates Re-NEET rank based on the total marks scored out of 720. In case of a tie, the following tie-breaking order applies:
- Higher marks in Biology (Botany + Zoology)
- Higher marks in Chemistry
- Higher marks in Physics
- Lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers (overall accuracy)
- Fewer incorrect answers in Biology, then Chemistry, then Physics
- Computerised random draw (if all of the above are identical)
Re-NEET Percentile vs Rank Formula
Rank = Total candidates × (1 − Percentile / 100)
For example, a 97th percentile in an exam with 22 lakh candidates gives an approximate AIR of 66,000.
Important Considerations
- Predictions ≠ Final Ranks: The predictor gives an estimated range — actual ranks depend on NTA's official data.
- Category Matters: General and OBC candidates with the same score may face different cutoffs across colleges.
- Accuracy Range: Generally accurate within ±500–2,000 ranks, most reliable for scores between 500–620.
- Final Authority: Always verify with the official NTA result at nta.ac.in once declared.
